The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is the most recognized certification for internal auditors and the Part 2 will teach students about the practice of internal audit.

The course covers all areas in which you need to be proficient. It is based on the current syllabus of the CIA.

You will know how to perform internal audit, starting from how to plan them, to how to perform and report on engagement results. You will learn tricky concepts such as to process for the acceptance of risks, how to perform risk-assessments and how to evaluate information.

The course will help you learn how to manage an internal audit function, from knowing how to create a risk-based internal audit plan to managing the administration of an internal audit department.

The syllabus of the course covers areas in which students should be proficient for the CIA exam.

It intentionally does not follow the order of the syllabus from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and is organized to present the information in a more progressive and understandable manner.

Introduction to the CIA certification, overview of the content of CIA Part 2 and exam strategies.

2. Managing Internal Audit
Learn how to manage an internal audit function, what policies and procedures internal audit follows and the administration of an internal audit function. Know how to create a risk-based internal audit plan by identifying different sources for engagements, assessing risks and prioritizing engagements. Gain an awareness over different types of engagements and assurance providers and know about the reporting requirements to the board and management.

Tips and Tricks for exam preparation specific to the CIA

Tricky, non-obvious, debatable and difficult questions to help you be ready for anything on the exam.

Students can start with any part of the CIA certification. The instructor recommends that professionals already in the audit field or those intending to join an internal audit function shortly start with the CIA Part 2, rather than the Part 1. This is because the Part 2 covers the practice of internal audit which can help you properly perform or manage internal audits.

Intended participants can also include:

The recommended credits for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for the course is 9 CPE.

A certificate will be delivered after completion of the full course. The recommended number of CPE is stated on the certificate.

The course is intended to meet all the criteria established by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
